MCKINNEY, Texas—Tyrese Robinson was one of the first players from the 2017 class to commit to Oklahoma.
More than a year later, Robinson made everything official Wednesday when he signed with the Sooners.
“It’s great,” Robinson said during a ceremony at McKinney Boyd High School. “It’s less stress. I don’t have to worry about other colleges contacting me. I’m just ready and humble. I’m ready for the next level.”
His early commitment left plenty of time for other schools to try to sway the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Robinson.
Texas A&M and Georgia in particular tried to flip him to the SEC.
