NORMAN — It didn't take long for Oklahoma to zero in on a new strength and conditioning coach.
The Sooners will name Bennie Wylie to take the spot vacated recently when longtime director of sports enhancement Jerry Schmidt left to take a similar position at Texas A&M, according to a report from FootballScoop.com.
Wylie appeared to confirm the hiring on his Twitter account Monday night, posting a picture of himself in the OU football facility and saying in part, "Thank you Sooner Nation."
Wylie has most recently done private training in Abilene, Texas.
Before that, he served three seasons as the head strength and conditioning coach at Texas, beginning in 2011.
