Report: Oklahoma center Akolda Manyang unavailable against VCU due to death in his family

Junior center Akolda Manyang will not be available for Oklahoma's second round game against the 10th-seeded VCU Rams, according to The Oklahoman's Ryan Aber.

Manyang was devastated by the news of a death in his family Friday evening and flew home to Minnesota, per the report.

"He missed Saturday's practice at Chesapeake Energy Arena, staying at the team hotel," Aber writes. "Sooners coach Lon Kruger said then he supported whatever decision Manyang made regarding his availability moving forward."

The junior played a prominent role in OU's opening round win against No. 15 seed Cal State Bakersfield.
