Report: Jerry Jones' grandson to take official visit to Oklahoma

Related Topics: Jerry Jones, Walk-on, Oklahoma

Jones, of course, is the grandson of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. He currently holds no FBS offers according to his 247 Sports profile.

Oklahoma is presumably bringing Jones in as a potential walk-on candidate. The Sooners already have quarterbacks committed in the 2018 (Tanner Mordecai) and 2019 (Spencer Rattler) classes.

The Sooners have a rich history of playing walk-ons. Current quarterback Baker Mayfield started his career at Texas Tech, and later at Oklahoma, as a walk-on. Several other players on the roster, including Erick Wren, Jaxon Uhles and Nick Basquine, have earned scholarships and significant playing time as walk-ons.
