The ACC once ranked with the Pac-12 as the best-scheduling conferences in college football. I don’t know if that’s true anymore.
Maybe it is. Half the ACC is playing two non-conference games against fellow Power 5 conference opponents or big-time mid-majors like Boise State and Central Florida.
But traditionally strong-scheduling programs like Georgia Tech and Miami have lowered their standards. The availability of southern mid-majors willing to sign on makes dumbing down a schedule quite enticing to the SEC, and it seems that is starting to afflict some ACC schools, too. We’ll see when I do the national rankings this weekend.
