NORMAN — The shortest start of Paige Parker's career came just two weeks ago.
In the series finale against Texas, Parker pitched just one-third of an inning, throwing only 28 pitches as she faced six batters. She gave up two runs on two hits and walked three.
The outing wasn't her best — not by a long shot.
The OU southpaw, who entered the series finale with a 0.85 ERA, gave up a two-run homer to Texas pitcher Paige von Sprecken, just the eighth home run she'd given up all season. Parker issued two more walks and gave up a single to left field before she was replaced by sophomore Mariah Lopez.
