A night after Oklahoma’s Paige Parker watched helplessly from the dugout as the Sooners let a seven-run lead dissolve, the sophomore ace made sure that two runs would be enough to make Oklahoma national champions.
Parker got pinch-hitter Courtney Shea to ground out to second base to finish the Sooners’ 2-1 victory over Auburn in the third and final game of the Women’s College World Series championship series Wednesday night at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.
OU scored two runs in the first inning, despite not hitting a ball out of the infield. Then Parker spent the rest of the night putting Auburn away.
