OU women’s gymnastics got a glimpse of the future on Friday night.
With Maggie Nichols unable to compete due to a sprained ankle, the Sooners showed what they could do without her in the lineup. That included posting a Perfect 10, scored by sophomore Olivia Trautman on vault, as the Sooners beat Stanford 197.650-196.000 in the Perfect 10 Challenge at Cox Convention Center.
Trautman became the only Sooner besides Nichols to score a 10.0 in an event this season, and coach K.J. Kindler believes that’s a score more of her athletes are capable of achieving.
“Hopefully, that’s true because Maggie won’t be here next year,” Kindler said.
