NORMAN — Maggie Nichols bounced across the floor with confidence and there was little doubt OU assistant Tom Haley was going to give her a chance.
A week after sitting out with an ankle injury that Sooners coach K.J. Kindler said could keep her out for a significant period of time, Nichols returned not only to top-ranked OU’s lineup but the all-around in a dominating win over No. 6 Denver.
The Sooners posted their third-best score in program history in the 198.450-197.000 win.
Nichols was originally slated to compete in everything but the floor, but she was a late addition to the lineup in the final rotation and won the all-around title as well.
