NORMAN — Nervously bouncing around on the corner of the mat before her floor routine, Oklahoma senior Brenna Dowell had more time than usual to take things in.
Her mind bounced around from thinking about her upcoming routine to the falls by two teammates ahead of her to what she needed to do to keep the Sooners in contention.
“I had to wait and then wait and then wait some more,” Dowell said.
It’s not a position that No. 1 Oklahoma has been in much this season — needing big-time finishes in order to escape with victories — but the Sooners faced that and came through Saturday, with Dowell and finisher Olivia Trautman coming up big to help the Sooners hold off No.
