NORMAN — Kaylon Williams is a self-described “Okie, born and raised.”
The OU women’s basketball senior forward starred at Midwest City High School before landing in Norman, and she had a front row seat to one of the more challenging moments in recent OU history last spring — the racist fraternity video that went viral and embarrassed the university and state she loves.
“It’s like having a family name,” Williams said of being from Oklahoma. “Anything negative associated with that family name is bad, so any way you can try to fix that is good.
“I don’t like that being associated with us because this is a great place.
