NORMAN — Shaina Pellington scored a career-high 33 points, Taylor Robertson made 8 3-pointers and the Oklahoma women's basketball team opened its season with a 90-83 victory over Western Kentucky on Friday night at Lloyd Noble Center.
Pellington was 10-of-24 shooting and had a career-high nine rebounds. Robertson scored 24 points off the bench and shot 8 of 14 from beyond the arc.
OU's Madi Williams also had a big night with 15 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks.
The Sooners had an 18-point lead with 2:59 left in the second quarter and led 38-25 at halftime, but Western Kentucky rallied and outscored OU by six points in the second half.
