FORT WORTH, Texas — Brenna Dowell skipped down the vault lane, raising her arms into alternating "O" and "U" as the large group of Oklahoma fans cheered as the Sooners finished off a national-championship performance at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships on Saturday at Fort Worth Convention Center.
The Sooners posted a 198.3375, easily besting LSU, which finished at 197.825. UCLA was third at 197.5375 while Denver was fourth at 197.0.
The Sooners overcame a fall on the floor by Evy Schoepfer in the third rotation to slowly pull away the rest of the way.
Oklahoma tied its season high with a 49.
