NORMAN — There’s usually no mistaking Sierra Romero’s name in softball circles, but as the former National Player of the Year is finding out, fame can be fickle.
Her players at Oregon, where she serves as a volunteer assistant, enjoy reminding her of that.
“Hey, Sydney,” they’ll jokingly say to get her attention. “Is Sydney the better Romero?”
Sierra laughs as she tells the story. Her sister is a National Player of the Year finalist at Oklahoma three years after she won the award at Michigan. They are best friends, the the most well-known sisters in softball and they both have resumes too impressive to be confused for one another.
