NORMAN — OU wasted no time adding its new accolades to its softball complex.
Oklahoma softball fans were invited to celebrate the team's latest Women's College World Series championship Friday evening and awaiting them at Marita Hynes Field was signage above the ballpark's scoreboard that includes national titles from 2000, 2013 and now 2016.
The Sooner Schooner trotted on to the field to start the festivities. Aboard the covered wagon was Oklahoma senior Kady Self holding OU's national championship trophy.
The rest of the team followed to share one more night with its home crowd just two days following OU's championship-clinching win over the SEC's Auburn Tigers.
