NORMAN — Giselle Juarez had thrown five no-hit frames, but Oklahoma State loaded the bases in the sixth inning to create a breath of suspense in a Sooner season that’s been short on such moments.
Juarez fired two strikes, and then got Oklahoma State first baseman Michaela Richbourg to whiff on an offspeed pitch. Juarez let out a celebratory scream as she escaped the jam, and then another as she notched her 13th strikeout — the game ending out in OU’s 3-0 Bedlam win.
On senior night in Norman, in front of a record crowd of 2,076, the top-ranked Sooners (46-2, 16-0) clinched their eighth consecutive regular-season Big 12 championship.
