Giselle Juarez has been described by coach Patty Gasso as both goofy and guarded, but as she talked about her senior teammates on the last night of the season, the pitcher’s composure finally cracked.
“Sorry, I wasn’t expecting this,” she said, fighting back tears with seniors Shay Knighten and Caleigh Clifton sitting to her left and right.
“Man, I love them,” Juarez said. “Every single one of them in this class. They did something special for this program. They did something special for me this year by accepting me when I came on my visit, accepting me when I came in January.
