The cancellation of last weekend's Big 12 Softball Tournament was the "right call," Oklahoma coach Patty Gasso said Tuesday.
"Quite honestly the field that we were playing on was not ideal for conditions," Gasso said. "And then when it rained, there's zero drainage in the outfield. I think we all recognized we have bigger things going on in front of us. If someone from any team would've gotten hurt on that field, I think none of us would forgive ourselves. Kind of an uneventful finish obviously, but it was the right call."
The tournament was being played on an auxiliary field at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex as construction continues on the main stadium.
