OU senior first baseman Lauren Chamberlain tied the NCAA career home run record with a two-run home run against Baylor on Saturday.
With the Sooners leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Chamberlain hit a blast to center field for her 18th home run of the season and 90th of her career, tying her with UCLA’s Stacey Nuveman for the most all-time in Division I softball history.
Chamberlain came back to the plate with a chance to break the record in the Sooners’ seven-run fourth inning, but was hit by a pitch.
