Former Oklahoma slugger Lauren Chamberlain, the NCAA's all-time leader with 95 career home runs, announced her retirement from softball on Friday night.
Chamberlain revealed the news in an on-field interview with ESPN's Holly Rowe just before the Bedlam game at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium.
"I'm officially announcing my retirement, and I never thought I'd say those words, but unfortunately I can only go as far as my body will let me," Chamberlain said. "It's just not letting me go any further."
