The right-field lights at Hall of Fame Stadium went out at 10:30 p.m. During the 15-minute delay, the Sooners turned the Women’s College World Series into part dance party, part pep rally.
When the lights flickered back on, Oklahoma’s Bedlam winning streak resumed.
The Sooners beat the Cowgirls 6-1 Friday night for their 24th consecutive win in the series. But this one, in front of a record Oklahoma City crowd of 9,820, held more importance than the previous 23. It was the first meeting between the state schools in the Women’s College World Series.
Oklahoma held a 3-1 lead over Oklahoma State before the outage.
