Two Oklahoma freshmen debuted Saturday at TCU: defensive end Jalen Redmond and safety Delarrin Turner-Yell. Both were expected to contribute this season for the Sooners before they were sidelined with injury and health concerns.
Redmond and Turner-Yell were on track to redshirt, but given their playing time Saturday, both could soon surpass the four-game redshirt plateau.
College football’s new redshirt rule allows players to participate in up to four games and still redshirt and maintain an extra year of eligibility.
