In Monday's landmark decision, the Supreme Court struck down a 1992 federal law that prohibited states from legalizing sports betting.

Thanks to the court's 6-3 ruling, states will now able to offer legal sports betting if they choose to do so.

With the possibility of legal sports betting coming to Oklahoma in the near future, OU athletic director Joe Castiglione is sorting through all of the possible implications for the Sooners' athletic teams.

"Now that the Supreme Court has ruled, we're processing the details and trying to gain a clearer understanding of all of the considerations involved," Castiglione said in a statement provided to The Oklahoman.
