NEW ORLEANS — For the first time since Joe Mixon’s attorneys released the video from Pickleman’s Cafe to the public, Oklahoma president David Boren talked with a small group of reporters following the Sooners’ 35-29 win against Auburn in the Sugar Bowl.
Throughout the 10 minute interview, he reaffirmed his decision to allow Mixon to stay on campus after the 2014 altercation.
“As a university president, I want to help young people learn from their mistakes and get on the right path,” Boren said. “I’m not in the business as a university president of destroying the entire lives and entire futures of young people.
