NORMAN — OU’s Gage Dyer stuck his landing on the high bar and stood motionless for a moment as the crowd inside McCasland Field House quieted.
Then Dyer enthusiastically pumped his fist as the crowd erupted for the junior from Yukon.
Dyer’s season-best performance on the high bar capped the top-ranked Sooners’ 411.600-403.250 win over No. 9 Iowa on Saturday night in OU’s home opener.
It had been a long, strange couple of weeks for OU.
At the Stanford Open on Jan. 25, the Sooners fell in a regular-season meet for the first time since 2014.
