OU beat No. 20-ranked West Virginia 73-62 in Morgantown on Saturday.
As a team on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament and one of ESPN analyst Joe Lunardi’s last four teams in, this was a must win game for OU. Not only did the Sooners get that needed win, but they also did it in dominating fashion.
OU led West Virginia by as many as 21 points in the second half.
The Mountaineers tried to turn up the pressure on defense with just over 11 minutes left. The extra pressure allowed West Virginia to go on a series of runs and cut into OU’s lead, but the Sooners’ lead was too great for the Mountaineers to overcome.
