Growing up in Edmond and rooting for Oklahoma, Shaquille Morris wanted to be a Sooner.
“I always loved OU football and then it was Blake Griffin that made me love OU basketball,” Morris said. “I was a huge fan of him and everything that he accomplished at OU.
“That made me really want to at least try to follow the people I looked up to that came out of Oklahoma.”
Morris never got that chance.
The Sooners recruited him, especially during his sophomore and junior years at Edmond Santa Fe, but that dropped off as Morris' high school career came to a close at Edmond Memorial.
