The Big 12 is not an offense-happy league. Not this season.
The normal crazy numbers for offense has been replaced. Last week alone, the Big 12 produced final scores of 17-14, 23-17, 31-12 and 30-14.
Oklahoma and Kansas were idle, which means the high-scoring Sooners didn’t get to unload on some poor defense and the Jayhawk defense wasn’t mauled by some offense. But the other eight teams combined to play old-fashioned football, at least in the electricity of scoring.
And that’s the norm in the Big 12 this season.
