NORMAN — After a disappointing performance at Iowa two weeks ago, even in victory, Oklahoma men’s gymnastics coach Mark Williams expected a big performance from his team as the top-ranked Sooners hosted No. 3 Michigan on Saturday.
Oklahoma delivered, setting an NCAA season high for overall score with a 424.050-411.200 win in front of 1,498 at McCasland Field House.
Part of that expectation was that the team would perform better, and part of it was the addition of Yul Moldauer to the all-around lineup.
Muldauer had been kept with a relatively light workload recently as Williams looked to lighten his work load after Muldauer’s offseason was all but eliminated thanks to preparation for the world championships in Qatar.
