OU football: Wednesdays at Tea Cafe have become tradition for Kyler Murray and his offensive line

NORMAN — Viet Nguyen was working late on Dec. 8 when his brother texted him that Tea Cafe, the Norman restaurant Nguyen has owned since 2006, made its way into Kyler Murray's Heisman Trophy speech.

“I was pretty surprised and basically on cloud nine for a second,” Nguyen said.

After Murray accepted the award, he thanked God, the Heisman Trust, Bob Stoops and Lincoln Riley. Then he got to his offensive line, naming them from left to right: Bobby Evans, Ben Powers, Creed Humphrey, Dru Samia and Cody Ford.

“You guys keep me upright, you keep me safe,” Murray said.
