NORMAN — As the start of preseason camp closed in, Oklahoma secondary coach Kerry Cooks pulled up some film from last season to prepare.
Cooks locked in on cornerback Tre Norwood.
“He looked like a 12-year-old boy,” Cooks said. “You can see the gains that he's made just with his body.”
A year ago, Norwood seemed like a longshot to get much if any playing time his freshman year. But not only did Norwood play immediately, he wound up starting the final five games of the season.
“He was a puppy,” Cooks said. “It was unfortunate that we had to throw him in there but we had to throw him in there.
