NORMAN — It didn’t take long for Oklahoma to zero in on a new strength and conditioning coach.
The Sooners will name Bennie Wylie to take the spot vacated recently when longtime Director of Sports Enhancement Jerry Schmidt left to take a similar position at Texas A&M, according to a report from FootballScoop.com.
Wylie has most recently done private training in Abilene, Texas.
Before that, he served three seasons as the head strength and conditioning coach at Texas beginning in 2011. He spent the year prior to his move to Austin at Tennessee after seven seasons at Texas Tech.
