OU football: Sooners pick up tight end commit

NORMAN — It didn't take Joe Jon Finley long to reel in his first commit as an OU assistant.

The Sooners picked up a commitment from three-star tight end Jason Llewellyn of Aledo, Texas, on Friday.

Llewellyn made his decision public on Twitter.

Finley had been involved in recruiting Llewellyn (6-foot-5, 243 pounds) at Ole Miss before becoming the Sooners' associate head coach for offense and h-backs and tight ends coach a month ago.

Llewellyn's other offers included Texas, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Michigan, Baylor and Auburn among others.

Llewellyn is the sixth commitment of the 2022 class for the Sooners and the fifth on offense.
