With Tulsa’s win over Tulane on Friday night, all three of Oklahoma’s non-conference opponents—the Golden Hurricane, Akron and Tennessee—are now bowl eligible.
The Sooners are one of two bowl-eligible FBS teams (excluding independents Notre Dame and BYU) that played all of their non-conference games against opponents who are also bowl-eligible.
Michigan State is the other.
Only five bowl-eligible teams played at least three non-conference games against opponents that are currently bowl-eligible.
The Sooners, Spartans and Ohio State are the only Power Five teams that fit the bill. Western Michigan, Utah State and Georgia Southern are the others.
