OU football: Sooners gain commitment from three-star ATH Caleb Johnson

Three-star athlete Caleb Johnson committed to play for Oklahoma on Thursday, marking the 12th commitment for Lincoln Riley’s 2021 class.

Johnson chose the Sooners over schools like Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Texas A&M, TCU and Tennessee.

At 6-foot, 180-pounds, Johnson plays receiver at Greenville High School in South Carolina, but was recruited by the Sooners to play defensive back.

Greenville head coach Darren Duke said he thinks Johnson is extremely versatile.

“I think his skill set gives him an opportunity to play on both sides of the ball.” He told the Herald Banner.
