NORMAN — After crashing during Oklahoma's game against West Virginia, the Sooner Schooner will not run for the rest of the season.
The Schooner will be repaired for display and could be back this season, but it will not run, senior associate athletic director for external operations Kenny Mossman told The Oklahoman in a statement earlier Tuesday.
"We will repair the Schooner that was damaged and it will be for static display. It's conceivable that it will be back at a game this season, although it will not run. We also plan to have a new Schooner constructed, but there is no timetable yet for when it will be ready.
