NORMAN — It's been an up and down start for Steven Parker.
But if Oklahoma is to have success against the Big 12's wide open offenses — beginning with West Virginia at home on Saturday (11 a.m., Fox Sports 1) — the sophomore safety from Jenks better be more up than down.
As the Sooners' nickelback, Parker is going to be on the field more often than not and as the fifth defensive back, defenses figure to test him plenty.
Tulsa did with some measure of success.
“Steven missed some plays that he makes,” defensive coordinator Mike Stoops said.
