NORMAN — Mike Stoops laughed Tuesday after practice when asked about co-offensive coordinator Cale Gundy saying Stoops sometimes “gives him the eye” when OU’s offense scores too fast.
“I did Saturday,” Stoops said. “Are you kidding me? Do you know how many plays we just played? I thought they were going to run the clock out. I was like ‘please tackle them.’”
Kyler Murray and the Sooner offense had six scoring drives of two minutes or less last Saturday in a 66-33 win against Baylor. Just as Stoops’ defense came off the field for a break, they were summoned back after quick OU scoring strikes.
