WACO, Texas — As the second half went on Saturday night, Ronnie Perkins’ confidence grew.
But it wasn’t until he fought off a block early in the fourth quarter to drag down Baylor quarterback Charlie Brewer for a sack that he started feeling like he was going to play a critical role.
“I feel like once I got that second one, I was like I can definitely help us win this game, like I can put this game away,” Perkins said after Oklahoma’s improbable 34-31 win over Baylor. “But it was definitely my mentality going into the last drive, man let's put this game away, let's finish it.
