MANHATTAN, Kan. — It came down to an official review.
After falling to a 25 point deficit, the Sooners staged a comeback and got within a touchdown with under two minutes to go. The onside kick by redshirt freshman Gabe Brkic was loose on the field, and sophomore Brayden Willis fell on it. It would be Oklahoma's ball, but not for long.
The play was reviewed and the recovery overturned. The officials said freshman Trejan Bridges illegally touched the ball. The Sooners rally was over and, with it, the game.
"It was a 50/50 call and it didn’t go our way," Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley said.
