NORMAN — When Bob Stoops was recruiting Orlando Brown, he didn't pull any punches.
It wasn't going to be easy for the massive offensive tackle to even make it to campus much less see the field.
Well overweight at 380 pounds and an even more concerning a 1.7 grade-point average and no ACT or SAT score that would qualify him, Brown was a long shot.
“It was daunting, man,” Brown said recently at Big 12 Media Days.
Daunting, maybe, but not impossible.
Stoops took a chance on Brown, and Brown has repaid the confidence by becoming one of the best offensive tackles in college football.
