OU football notebook: Ty Darlington says OL needs 'nastiness' more consistency

Oklahoma senior center Ty Darlington didn't mince words when asked about the Sooners' offensive line play of late and whether the group lacks the “nastiness” it had last year.

“It's there, but it's not there consistently enough,” Darlington said.

The Sooners had to replace offensive tackles Daryl Williams and Tyrus Thompson — both picks in the 2015 NFL Draft — and so far, that transition period has been rough. The Sooners were ranked No. 1 in the league in rushing offense last season, but through five games, rank eighth this year.
