OU football notebook: Stoops says Sooners have to block better for Ross

Last season, Alex Ross gave Oklahoma an electrifying kickoff returner.

He averaged 31.2 yards and returned a pair for touchdowns as a sophomore last year.

Through three games, Ross has a 13.8-yard average.

“As much as anything, he's had his hands on them,” Sooners coach Bob Stoops said. “We just have to block better for him. Alex doesn't do it alone and it's never been that way. We have to do a better job of protecting him and giving him some opportunities. That's where we have to keep pushing to get better.
