OU football notebook: Sooners benefit from pass interference call

On second-and-14 from the Tennessee 31 in the final four minutes of the game, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield targeted a receiver that had never caught a collegiate pass before.

Mayfield tried to hit freshman A.D. Miller in the back of the end zone, but the throw went high and Miller was pulled down by Tennessee nickelback Malik Foreman.

Foreman and other Volunteers' defenders argued that the pass was uncatchable, but Foreman was called for pass interference. Six plays later, the Sooners tied the game on Mayfield's 5-yard touchdown pass to Sterling Shepard to help Oklahoma pull off an eventual 31-24 win at Neyland Stadium.
