OU football notebook: Riley wants faster tempo

First-year offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley wants his offense to move much faster.

One of the hallmarks of Riley's Air Raid is the up-tempo pace.

“We're not close,” Riley said. “We're fast at times. We were slower the other night (vs. Tennessee) because of the crowd. It's hard to move it when we're not moving the ball. … Trying to balance that with I don't want to give up execution. So we're trying to balance that and as we get better with execution, we'll get faster.”

Through two games, the Sooners have averaged 81 offensive plays.
