NORMAN — Nick Basquine and Neville Gallimore won the 2019 Don Key Award, it was announced during the Senior Day celebration before Saturday’s game.
The Don Key Award is given annually to a senior on Senior Day and is “the highest honor an OU football player can receive.” Named after the former Sooner, the award is given to a player, or players, who who exemplifies Key’s qualities of hard work on and off the field.
A Norman native and product of Norman North High School, Basquine is finishing his sixth season with Oklahoma. He joined the Sooners as a walk-on in 2014 and reshirted and was eventually put on scholarship in November of 2016.
