NORMAN — All eyes were on Lincoln Riley and Bob Stoops on Wednesday afternoon.
But standing in the back of the room, Mike Stoops was also worth a glance.
He wasn't at the dais alongside his brother, preparing to grab the baton from him. Instead, he was standing out of the spotlight, joking with some of his players while Bob Stoops prepared for his final news conference as head coach of the Oklahoma football team.
There was a time when Mike Stoops could be in Riley's seat.
He joined Bob Stoops at Oklahoma just a few days after his brother got the job, coming over from Kansas State with Brent Venables and Mark Mangino.
