AMES, Iowa — Oklahoma linebacker Caleb Kelly could be taking a rare route from former five-star prospect who's started 19 career games to possibly redshirting in his junior season.
The Fresno, Calif., native lost out to senior Curtis Bolton for the starting weakside linebacker spot, and Kelly didn't play Saturday against Iowa State. His lack of involvement became most noticeable when Bolton had to come out for a play, and walk-on linebacker Bryan Mead replaced him instead of Kelly.
“We’re kind of evaluating that position right now," coach Lincoln Riley said after the game. "Caleb's doing a good job.
