NORMAN — Lincoln Riley didn’t think Jalen Hurts’ behind-the-back move against Texas was all that cool.
“I said some really not nice things about him while that ball was behind him,” Riley said Monday.
The risky maneuver came late in the third quarter Saturday with OU leading Texas 20-10. Longhorns linebacker Joseph Ossai blitzed from the left side of the offensive line and had a clear path to Hurts.
The OU quarterback sidestepped to his left, and while doing so, transferred the ball behind his back from his right to his left hand. The ball stuck for a moment behind him as Ossai tried to dislodge it.
