OU football: Lincoln Riley updates Marquise Brown injury

NORMAN — The health status surrounding receiver Marquise Brown is still unknown as Oklahoma prepares to face Alabama in the College Football Playoff.

OU coach Lincoln Riley provided a brief update Wednesday afternoon.

"Still too early," Riley said of Brown's status. "Working through it. It's not a definite no, not a definite yes. We're hopeful, but he hasn't done much to this point."

Brown suffered a left lower-leg injury in the Big 12 Championship game against Texas. He was carted off OU's sideline in the fourth quarter and returned with a walking boot.

Riley confirmed that Brown did not have surgery after the Big 12 title game.
